rope Nosebands- BE legal?

AFAIK they are permitted. I don't think they can be used for PC events though.

For BE pretty much anything goes for jump phases as long as it is used and fitted correctly.

Would be legal but inclined to think they would be hard to adjust so that they sit correctly - with no rigidity in the cavesson the lower strap may easily bring the upper strap too low on the nose and risk damaging the nasal cartilage.

they are really quite rigid, they aren't like floppy rope :)

thanks thistle. might email BE to ask just in case and before i shell out any money on one :)

I'm afraid I have no idea whether they're BE legal or not, but I was just wondering if there are any benefits to using a rope noseband rather than a leather one? Does it make any difference or is it just to look good? :) sorry...just being nosey lol

as they are thinner they are a bit harsher than a normal cavesson so can be good for horses that are a bit rude (as an alternative to cranking your noseband ridiculously tight)...my horse can get a bit locked in his sjing at comps so trainer suggested i try one...he's not strong so don't want to put a harsher bit in but i have no steering which isn't great so thinking rope noseband and a fulmer and see how that works. :)

both of mine went really well in them, the mare had a jeffries polo one which was a little softer and the gelding had a JW one which was super thin and very rigid

Sorry, I was just joking about using rope, I have nothing against them-in fact they are very good for the right horse, also I just looked back at the link and realised it was £172.50 for the bridle not just the noseband!
