Anyone going to the Retraining of Racehorses clinics which are going on around the country for the next couple of Months? I have just booked myself and my ex-hurdler onto one locally with Karen Dixon in May. My ex racer evented with her last owner quite succesfully after coming out of racing. I do a little bit of dressage with her so I am having a flatwork session. The clinics are really good value at £25 for 1 hour individually or in a small group. Your horse needs to have raced and be registered with RoR.

I am going to try the one at Golden Cross as they don't seem to be holding any within Kent itself - just waiting to see if they would fit me in with a shorter lesson on my 3 year old. Not even particulary bothered if don't do anymore than walk, trot and canter on either rein just would appreciate some feedback on how he is doing and where I should aim him. My 9 year old is a jumper really but he has being playing at showing for the past year or so so Im not sure whether to go for a jumping or flatwork one - Choices choices !!!

Im doing the one at West Wilts in May really looking forward to it, they are good value, my ex racehorse is very good at dressage but the jumping is very much in progress as it all depends on his frame of mind so will be good to get some pointers and what to do as when he does go there is a lot of talent!!!
