Sorry this has probably been asked before but is a horse still ROR eligible if he has been in race training but never actually raced? I couldn't find anything in the websites FAQ's.

No, they have to have raced under rules in the UK or Ireland.

Well sorry to potentially add further confusion but I was told by ROR that the horse had to have been in training OR raced in the UK which obviously includes part of Ireland. The reason I emailed them was because my mare in UK bred and went through our sales but trained and raced in Italy so is not eligible.

ROR they have to have raced under rules in the UK. 2 Irish racecourses fall under UK - Down Royal and Down Patrick I think.
Saying that the ROR appears to be allowing a horse that only raced in 1 PTP to conpete and they won't answer my enquiries when I query it against their rules.
Other racehorse groups allow unraced ones - The Ex Racers Club is one such.
It entirely depends on what you want to compete in, where and under which banner the racehorse classes are being competed under as to the rules so read the schedules carefult.
