Right.... as you all know I am going to be heading off to Egypt next month.

I have decided that my aim for the time that I am there is to encourage the children to connect with their animals. I am going to take out snazzy head collars, lead ropes, child size body brushes and hoof picks. What I would like to also do is run a little competition for the children at the end of my time there. I would love to reward them with a rosette each as well. So my question is.... What do you all do with your rosettes? If you throw them away, please can I be cheeky and ask for them to be sent to me? I was going to buy some but a friend has just said I should first see what other people do with theirs.

Thank you very much and any tips from anyone who teaches children will be gratefully received. I want to make it fun and educational and get a bond forming between the equine and the child.

What a great idea. If you pm your address I will send you some. Let me know how many you'd like. I'm a bit of a hoarder and can't bear to throw them away !!!

pm me I will look through and see what I have, they are cluttering the lorry mainly so would be good to have a use for them.

Most children love simple games, I often place objects like brushes around the school, on the fence, on top of wings, make mazes with poles, a small jump anything that they can use as an obstacle they then have to ride round doing tasks on the way such as picking up the brush placing in in a different spot, without dropping it, go through the poles without touching them. This can amuse them for a while, they can be competitive if you want by timing the rounds and giving penalties for any errors.

At Easter the brushes are replaced with chocolate :D

The usual bending races etc are great fun too.

Ahh here is another I can also help with, we have lots of unused odds and end rosettes in the PC branch. Some say special, some say clear round others have placings I can ask our rosette holder to let me have any that don't form a set and send them on to you. You have my email so just let me know the address I can send them too. :D

NR - this is where I really lack.... I am in a complete muddle in trying to link people from here to the real world when it comes to Cairo Farrier! I will need a little more of a clue :) Were you bidding on the Mark Smith lot?!! I am loving your grey horse - very smart.

Be Positive - thank you very much for fabulous information and ideas. I think games like that will be inspirational for them. I will ping you a PM with my address. Many thanks again everyone :)
