Rosie is 18 months old now (where does the time go?
) and as most of you will remember, she is my first ever Border Collie. She has been a joy to own, very biddable, happy, loyal and loving dog. It hasn't been all plain sailing of course - she escapes through any gap she can find to terrorize the farm dogs over the road, she can be a bit snappy to other dogs we might meet out walking and I don't think I would trust her with small children.
She is my son's dog really, I caved in and let him have her because as a family we were going through a bit of a rough ride (softie that I am
) and of course at that time, I had no idea that I would meet a farmer and get involved in farming hands on - but hey, Rosie has come into her own now
So today - I bought the start of my very own flock of sheep
Very fine looking ewes they are too and we decided to bring Rosie with us to lend a hand
This is just her third time actually working sheep (with a complete novice numpty owner
) But as she was working bred and bought straight off a farm - its hardly surprising that it all comes naturally to her and she was, once again, absolutely brilliant - I am so proud of her
She really is going to be such an asset (shame I had her spayed - JOKE!!!
)
A few pics of Rosie doing her stuff...
Job done - "Is that it then Mum?"
And a quick pic of the farmhouse we are doing up that you might have heard me mention - coming on very, very slowly!
I am definitely now a Springer and Border enthusiast although I have been toying with the idea of getting a Cocker next!
