Just spoken to her Mum who is feeling better as she actually managed to sleep last night.
They tried to wake her again this morning but she fights and tries to pull the tubes out when she starts to come round so they've given her a mild sedative. Nurse says this sedating/trying to wake them/sedating cycle is very normal.
The fracture is stable and she is wearing a soft collar. She's propped up because of the muck in her lungs and danger of pneumonia but she is having antibiotics. One of her pupils is not reacting but they don't know why - they've scanned again and can see no cause. Might be a detached retina. They still can't see any blood clots.
The best news is that the spinal cord is undamaged so she will walk again and that they can see a reaction on the monitor when they speak to her. We won't know how extensive or lasting any brain damage is until she comes round properly.
Thank you again for vibes, prayers and PMs. We're going up to Addenbrookes to see them all later on today and I''l report back if there's anything to add.
Apparently she's made the front page of the East Anglian - here's a link to the story

Oh what good news.

I've been following Rosies story. I know I'm a total stranger, but I have worked breifly in neurology rehab from acquired brain injury and my mother is a specialist in this area. Please, if you want to talk about it, PM me.

That's very good news about the fracture - so glad it is a good prognosis. Fingers crossed for you and Rosie. I know it must be a very hard time now for you.

So pleased to see this post this morning. Sounds like she is going in the right direction. My thoughts are with you all, you must be feeling so traumatized.
