Our 2 Jack Russell pups are 8 weeks old. At the moment they play alot and sleep alot. When they play they appear to get really rough! They are a dog and a bitch. Is it normal for playtime to sound so full on?

Yep. Mine are almost three, brother and sister, and sound like they are killing each other :p but they've not marked each other yet, it's all mouth and no trousers :p it's good for dogs to be able to play like dogs.
If you do think it is getting hairy, step in with a firm, calm voice.

Just a wee note, get them used to spending time apart and do individual training with them, litter siblings or puppies of a similar age can bond to one another rather than their owners so put the groundwork in now and it will be much easier in later years :)

My parents recently got a puppy so my 6 month old pup has a playmate.... my god they do play!

Playtime usually consists of Molly (the baby ridgeback) sitting on top of B whilst chewing her face. B will happily hang off Mollys ears whilst running about. Molly loves to chew Bs feet.... yesterday I went to stroke molly and she had alot of hair that once belonged to B coming out of her mouth :o We just leave them to it. They are both babies and neither have shown any agressive tendencies so its nice for them to be silly together.

If we hear any yelps we just shout 'enough' in a firm voice..... they look at us for a couple of seconds then get on with playing again, the joys of puppies!
