I am going to be looking at buying a new horse either the end of this year or early next and wondered how much i should be looking to spend on the following:
14.2-15.2hh preferably gelding but would accept nice tempered mare. Any breed but no fizzy types so ideally smart cob or native cross. Must be 100% in traffic and to hack alone or in company. Off the leg but not sharp and something very genuine and safe as i am not into hair raising rides anymore! Would like something that likes jumping but doesnt have to be a super star, wont be doing anymore than Riding Club shows. Age range roughly 4/5yrs-10yrs.

Am i going to find this kind of horse impossible to find?!

In my area of the country I would say approx £3500 - £4500 although in my experience horses like this very rarely get advertised as they are snapped up through word-of-mouth straight away!

I wouldn't say impossible to find, but they will get snapped up quickly.

You'd be looking at anywhere between 2.5 - 5k in my area.

Hiya - If youre not going to be looking at competing much beyond RC level and just want something, fun, safe, and responsive, try thinking about raising your age bracket. Some of the more senior chaps out there have many years left in them but the price is reflected in the fact that on paper they are not spring chickens..... good luck & look on www.nfed.co.uk for nice NFX's amongst others.

I'm half-thinking about selling one that could fall into that description, I reckon she'd go Intro by next June but no idea how much further yet.
I'd wondered about asking about £3750 but am unsure about selling her at all because she's 4 and I'm uncomfortable selling a youngster as "safe" even when they are... still so much to learn and so much potential for it to go wrong with a stranger.
I think it's a case of go out and see what you can get with the money you can afford and then decide whether you need to revise your expectations or your piggy bank!

I went out to buy pretty much what you're describing but ended up buying George instead who is 16.3 and a thoroughbred shire ID x with somewhat rudimentary schooling. He is 8 and was £4K and has turned out to be a superstar 1st horse and worth every penny!
