im looking t build a round pen on the cheap with herras fencing i was wondering what kind of surface should i use i have access to sand through builders merchants so i was hoping to use some sort of sand and just put down some terram on the grass??? any ideas or will tht not work??

At a minimum you need to remove the grass/topsoil. Topsoil has no load bearing ability and also holds a lot of water. The pores in the membrane will also become blocked preventing the flow of water. You must also avoid sharp sand and building sand and go for a sub-angular Silica Sand as an absolute minimum.

You definitely need to put hardcore underneath, I would also put some form of drainage in as you'll regret if you don't. Also don't use builders sand, use silica sand. Ours has silica sand and Flexiride.
