My Welsh Terrier has some round sores on his body (about 4 in total and two have lumps under them) and I dont know what they are

We removed a tick from him last week, we did get the head when we removed it but I am wondering if the sores have been caused by other ticks being dislodged by the dog so not coming cleanly away as he does run free in our field and through hedges etc..

i'm a bit worried about the two that are raised

I know its a bit vague but does anyone have any theories on what they can be please

(the dog is oblivious of course!)

Thank you, I have had a google, the patches arent as regular as that but it seems quite nasty so I guess I had better get him checked out just in case!

Thanks again

ok my skin is literally crawling now lol

I will get him to the vets in the meantime I guess no cuddles or unnecessary handling along with some hand scrubbing

I really appreciate your help

No worries, it's not a real worm, just a fungus, don't panic, just a bit annoying :p
If he picked up ticks off where near cattle or sheep were grazing he could have picked it up from the grass.

If it is dislodged ticks, the vet might need to have a little dig and remove the heads and the dog might need antibiotics, particularly if there is a risk of Lyme disease.

Thank you both

Luckily its not Ringworm, the patches are infected tick bites, the vet had a pick at one of them which was a bit yuckky lol

The dog has had an antibiotic jab and has some tablets for the next four days

Thank goodness he isnt anywhere near as bad as the cat when it comes to tablets

I doubt that its put him off looking for rabbits in the long grass though!

I was going to suggest "hotspots" my dog has recently had a bout of these, had one on the side of his face, one under his armpit and one just beside his tail, he was so itchy and one got slightly infected, had an antibiotic jab and anti intch jab (not sure what that was) and a course of tablets and is fine now.
