Hi,

Myself and my friend are looking for places we can box to ride on Dartmoor. We live in Plymouth so Tavi, Yelverton, Princetown, Burrator area would be good. Does anyone know any good easy to follow routes? looking to be out for 2-3hrs.

Thanks! x

Are you good to follow a map? Just a quick glimpse at the OS map Outdoor leisure Dartmoor, I would think park at grid ref 561709 which is just north of Sharpitor, follow the bridleway NW and then as it curves into Princetown, stop for lunch there (look up Fox Tor Cafe) then you could either retrace your steps or head out on another bridleway which bears just east of South, and trace your route back north of Burrator or (the one I would feel more confident of) start in the same place, follow the bridleway for a couple of miles, pick up the road, at the crossroads bear north, then pick up another bridleway which stays North and comes out at Hillside by Merrivale bridge (there is a pub there) turn East and pick up the old railway line (Google Foggintor and Swelltor quarries, pick up the bridleway and follow back to transport.

I'm hoping that you can follow that lot on the map!

I'm based on the eastern side of the moor but do walk on your side a bit (and grew up at Dousland).
