Hi guys,
I'm going to try spurs on my mare for the first time. I've hardly ever had to use spurs in my life because I usually ride horses I break myself and they're taught young to move off the leg. but this mare is a bit older, and can be ignorant to my left leg especially in trott-canter transitions. I've had her a while and she's far better than she was but when she's coming into season or having a mare-day she becomes defiant. So don't start telling me it's a training issue and I shouldn't use them!!
As I'm no spur expert, so should I use smooth rowel spurs or prince of Wales spurs? I think the ideal would be roller ball spurs but they don't make them in brass, and I'm a ridiculous tack snob who won't wear silver!!! Haha.
The spurs are just for dressage tests and the odd schooling session.
Thanks guys x
