Just wondering how you got on and if I saw any of you!

I was there with Sapphire Girl (she was jumping my bay gelding), and we both did the BN. I was last to go in the jump off on the chesnut mare - it was her first affiliated show, and its a shame we are not registered as she would have come 6th had we not been hc

Just out of interest, would she have won any money for 6th place? Wondering whether or not to register her now!

Anyway, good day was had by all even though i reckon it must have been minus 10 degrees in that viewing gallery!!

Well done. Were there many there?

Depends how many starters as to whether or not you've have been placed. BSJA does 1 money prize for every 5 starters so if there were 25-30 (or more) starters you would have been placed.

I think i counted at least 20 in the jump off alone, so the class must have been fairly big (ie, lasted 2 hours)!

Really pleased with the little mare as i havent had her that long and until recently she has been really horrible to me - rearing, bucking etc etc. Think she has finally tested me out now and is now deciding to behave and do well at her jumping!!

I was there!!!!!!!

there is unlikely to be prize money any lower than 4th or sometimes 5th at Royal Leisure although if you go to Pyecombe in the spring when there are over 50 in the classes prize money goes beyond 7th

Really - that does surprise me. I haven't been there for years but there were always big classes (ie over 40) for the smaller classes and friends that go there now keep telling me how many there are in the BN and Discovery. Unless they're just trying to look good!

in the spring on the outdoor surface there was closer to 40 but in the winter indoors there are usually between 25 and 35

well if you saw me you wouldnt have missed me!!!!!! chestnut with LARGE white face and two white hind leg stockings and one white sock infront - having a bit of bitting trouble - had two down in the first round of BN which was very annoying but now we've got the back end going i cant stop and she just got way too close

annoying as she finds that height so easy but shes still young and relatively inexperienced as am i so we'll just keep experimenting and going out and practising lots

i probably saw you then??

I must have been in cloud cuckoo land as i dont recall seeing a chesnut like that!! Mind you, was concentrating hard on my mare, so probably not paying that much attention.....embarrassed to say i was probably paying more attention to the male riders, just checking out how they were riding

I was riding a chesnut mare with 4 white boots on and white stripe. In the first round we were about in the middle of the class, and in the jump off we had to wait right until last!!

She is also getting very strong with me, and pulling me into the fences - have to say that we were probably very lucky not to have knocked any down, as it wasnt a textbook round! She finds it very easy though and thinks she knows it all - i need to get some lessons with her!

Prizes went down to 9th for the Discovery and 7th or 8th for the 1.05m open I think. I was pretty impressed with how quickly they managed to get through the huge number of entries. I don't think they could have been any more efficient. It didn't rain either which was a miracle

I wasn't there yesterday but from recent experience if there were 20 or more in the JO then you can bet there were 35 or more starters. That means at least 7 places would have been paid

Well done if you got 6th place...the standard of competition at RL is the highest in Area 46 generally speaking, and if you do affiliate, you will find easier places to jump.

Can anyone tell me what the clear round at RL is like. I've been having some stopping probs but only in competition so don't want to compete until got it sorted but need to jump in a competition enviroment. Do they always run a clear round ring there when they hold sj comps.

Rambo do you think RL is a hard place to jump??

I think the competition is usually strong, with good numbers of decent quality horse/rider combi's in all classes. The arena and surface are good though and the courses tend to be built up to height imo
