Hi everyone, not been on here much at all lately, have been lurking a bit though :)

Im after some advice as this is an area I havent covered before! For the next couple of years im going to be just doing showing with the odd bit of dressage and to tell you the truth I am loving it so far and not missing eventing at all!! Im sure that will change soon though and as soon as I ride my lovely Incy :)

Anyways im taking Dougal to Royal Windsor next week for the ROR class and would just like some help and advice if anyone an answer my below questions id be most grateful!!

1) First of all what will I need to put into my show? And in what order will the show come up and the judges ride etc?
2) Can I have quarter marks on him?
3) My mum is my groom! She has bought a little basket for brushes!! What does she need to be wearing as I understand they dress up as much as the rider?!
4) Also my pelham is rubber, is that ok?

I think thats about it for now ive done lots of research and looked at pics so feel a bit more prepped, but any advice will be great!
Thanks

I have a hunter so do not compete in ROR classes however though i would try to help. Generally if there is a ride judge you will not be expected to do an individual show there is just the initial go round, walk trot canter (and extend/gallop not sure if the ex racer do that bit tho:O )
Depending on his type i should imagine he is either a lightweigh hunter or a riding horse so yes quarter marks are a must, hunters have sharks teeth and blocks/bangs riding horses vary some have as above others just the blocks or a V shape google is your friend if that makes no sense.
For your mum as groom most importantly she needs a hat, grooms are not allowed in the ring without one could be a beagler, harnessed velvet, wax hat, flat cap,no jeans generally cant go wrong with smarts cords, shirt/polo shirt and a gillet or something similar every groom will be wearing something different there is not hard and fast rule really so long as there smart, you can dress her up as much as you like though.
Im sure your pelham is fine far better to see a horse going well in what its used to than changing it for something its not so happy in :D
Hope that helps slightly like i said ROR is not my thing so can't go to indepth but though as no one else had replied i'd give you a hand :D
P.s royal windsor is lovely your have a ball :D
