My OH, who was partly brought up by French speakers, fell in love with Ardennes last year having his first canter on holiday. I know that Cumbrian Heavy Horses, who look fab, now have one. Does anyone know of a RS/trekking centre I could take him to further south so he gets to play with big French/Belgium horses before our summer hols?

The Bitless Bridle centre in Wales have an Auxios Mare (very similar to an Ardennes) that they give lessons on I think and I'm sure there is a RS in Cornwall with one :D

Love Ardennes!!

xx

Thought I'd found one in Studland (with potential beach riding for me!) but they sold their Ardennes so the hunt continues...

I rode one on Exmoor at Cloud Farm a couple of years ago (now I think moved to Doone Valley Holidays - Hallslake Farm) might be worth giving them a ring to see if they still have them.

lagartijamick, thank you! I'll give them a bell. Missed your PM yesterday as was on work computer so just looking at the thread without being logged in.

So it seems OH will have to get in practice if he wants to ride in Surrey - I imagine a 'strong' Ardennes could be very strong, although super-fun.

I've mailed Hallslake Farm to see if they still have theirs, thanks RebelRebel!
