Girl has made a good attempt to save this cob, has spent money doing so, RSPCA, came out but said they could not remove it for 48hrs Now they have walked away and left her to get on with it because she has put it on road to recovery.

I expected there would be ''sights'' after this winter--are we just beginning to see them.

Awww bless him, good of her to take care of him. Why has a tethered pony got a full set of shoes on?
Glad he is on the mend.

Hi Sarahsum1, I read the whole topic and the horse was loose when the girl found him. She apparently tethered him after the RSPCA had seen him as they left him loose on a field with no fencing and roads either side.

I have actually befriended this kind girl on facebook recently. This is a totally shocking story of a horse literally being dumped. RSPCA has been NO help at all. May I ponint out that this girl is also pregnant and has a 1 year old daughter as well. She has looked after 'Tod' extremely well since he arrived.

She made a plea on fb for any rugs anyone had for him. I dug one out for her and have posted it too her as my contribution to his welfare. She has tethered him and he is visable from her house (literally opposite I think). He has been lucky to make it so far and is most certainly not out of the woods yet.

She has done an amazing thing for him and he sounds to be on the road to recovery. The sad thing is that his owners will probably come back and claim him when she has spent the money and time to get him well. I really hope she can get legal ownership before this happens.

The RSPCA are useless and legislation is a waste of time as they don't bother acting on it!

Oh gosh that is so shocking

but what a star that lady is for taking it upon herself to see to this pony, I can't believe the RSPCA

Thanks for befriending her--note you are a long way away
Cross Posted really in the hope someone nearer may be able to offer support on the ground.
Can only imagine she cannot afford to keep it with another baby on the way

The pictures of the farrier working say it all--no doubt it was in harness last summer and the shoes have been on since.
When you attend sales and see them in harness or being ridden at 2yo there is a lot wrong out there.

I cant see pics - not a member of saddle soap :-(
Im assuming ned is in a pretty bad state :-( Unfortunately the RSPCA cant/wont do anything if the ned has access to food and water and is being 'looked after' in some way.
