RSPCA Chief Resigns

Oh Dear, what a pity, never mind.

I wonder just what we're to be served up with, in his place. Considering the adage, "Be careful of what you wish for", I'll reserve judgement.

I wonder if I'll be allowed on the interview panel.

It is a tough job for someone if they are going to get the organisation back on track and revive staffing and morale!

Well said. Totally agree.

But the job will doubtless go to someone who is only too willing to suck up to the fluffy bunny brigade and curry favour where it suits them.
 
I wonder if we'll ever be in full possession of the facts. Has Grant been moved on because the remainder of the board have come to realise that his political stance is proving a drain on their fund raising abilities and results? Are the rspca coming around to the view of most that their primary concern should be the welfare of animals, rather than the following of politically motivated persuasions?

The truth of the matter, I suspect, will be when we see what grant does with his time, in the future. If he's straight back in to another role, and with another organisation, then the health issue was a sham. If he remains on the board of the rspca, but as Dobiegirl says, as a consultant, then again, we can assume that his health could just as easily have been an issue with wishing to spend more time with his family or gardening.

It will also be interesting to see the degree of fervour which the rspca attach to future prosecutions. I could be wrong, but it may well be that those who direct the charity are starting to consider their own charter.

History will reveal to us the likely truth.

This was the first time, however, I have ever seen any media commentary which shows that the morale of the RSPCA staff is at an all time low. I sincerely hope the new CEO recognises this and take active steps. I do not know anyone working in the RSPCA and am not a fan, but I thought it was an interesting statement. In terms of "sucking up to bunny huggers". If that was the case, then the RSPCA would not be struggling for funding and support!
