Hi,
My bits are thankfully well padded out at the mo with a borrowed HM seat saver but its been a revelation:D as I feel for the first time in years, I can actually ride. Ive struggled more than Ive realised for the last 8 yrs with my Jaguar dressage saddle as it fits my horse perfectly but obviously not me :(. My horse is short coupled and cant take a sadlle larger that 17 inch, I need 17.5 really or so Im told, so to compromise we got the Jaguar made to measure with a flatter tree to allow me that bit of extra room. Ive never really been happy and have always felt like it tips me forward and find it hard to sit up straight, my legs dont hang where they should and its all been a bit of a fight.
Well HM pad on and wow, Im sat up straight, comfy!!!!, legs on the horse without trying to contort myself and I love the wider feel it gives between my thighs :o:o as my hips seem to have opened up. I have no rubbed bits :D:D and I can ride :D:D
So Im going to shell out for a new saddle. Problem is, does such a saddle exist, as in sweeping back, wide twist (I think thats what its called) lovely keep you in position knee rolls.
I trust this saddle fitter and dont want to buy from anyone else but he sells more top end saddles like prestige, amerigo, albion, Jaguar so its going to be expensive. I love the DH kentucky but aparantly my horse needs the sweeping back of the other saddles mentioned. Saddler is a friend of a friend and isnt out to rip me off.
Hot chocolate, cookies, wine etc etc for getting this far :D:D:D

If you are spending that sort of money - can't you get a made to measure? My dressage is made to measure so panels to fit my horses back, deepseat for my personal preference, short thigh rolls as am short there, but longer flaps as overall have long legs, saddle cut back as horse has a big shoulder. I also chose what sort of leather I wanted. Mine cost me then @£1200 and a few in our yard have followed suit to get saddle thats fits them and their horse perfectly. I got to play around with different panels, size and positioning of knee and thigh rolls and the type of seat I wanted.
