When I tow my horse in the trailer, he rubs his tail on the back bar. The first few times he did it, I thought nothing of it, because my old horse did this too. To try and prevent it I put two tail bandages on when traveling, but it didn't help. When I tok him to a show the other day, the top of his tail was rubbed raw. He wasn't in pain or anything though. His skin has always been flaky on his tail since I bought him from Ireland 4 months ago. His tail has healed now (he rubbed it raw yesterday), but he has no hair where he rubbed it. On some other forums I'm on, they recommended MTG, which moisturises skin and promotes hair growth. Unfortunatly, it was an American forum and I can't seem to find this product in England at all. I'm buying a neoprene tail guard to stop him rubbing his tail in future, but do you know of anything similer to MTG that will help his hair grow and moisturise his skin? Thanks.
