Any advice how I can get the stopper on the martingale and also the stoppers on the reins before I chuck the whole lot in the bin?!?!??!? :(

Loop baling twine thro it and stand on the twine, loop some more thro it and pull it upwards, stretching the rubber.

get accomplice to feed piece of tack thro.

Warm the rubber in a jug of hot water first to soften it or it will split.

I have them in hot water already and am on my own at home so have no help and no twine. Think I may have to start again tomorrow at the yard!!

Thank you :)

They are infuriating little sods. I don't use a martingale and I'm going to cut them off my reins rather than have the stress of getting them off!!

Argh! rubber stoppers give me chills! Hate the barstewards! I too tend to employ a pen in getting them on :o That and about 20mins of trying to force the *bleep bleep bleeping bleep bleepers!* on
Well done to you for getting them on though! :D

Haha. Thanks everyone, glad it's not just me that suffers with this problem.

The pen technique works best for the rein stoppers and the washing liquid for the martingale stopper.

It took about an hour but glad it is done now!!
