I am hoping to find out how much it costs to fit out a standard sized stable with rubber matting? What type you use or where you bought it from.

My current stable has matting fitted already, cut to size, good sloping floor ect so works perfectly but on the week end I am moving to another yard with a shabbier stable, floor slopes slightly to left, uneven.
I want to put matting down but would like to know how expensive it is and if you think the flooring will cause problems.

Thanks

Hi Coen, I use Eqimat and it is brilliant!!

The floor in my stable is uneven and becasue the mats lock together like a jig-saw it stays in place! It is expensive, but in my opinion really worth it!! They're so lightweight and really durable!

For the other stable I bought some mats off eBay - they're black rubber - not as thick as the Equimat and weight a bloody ton - mum and I cannot move them on our own so washing under them is a problem!! They wouldn't be any good in the stable with the uneven floor as they do not lock together!

The Equimat cost about £450 to mat out a stable of 12' x 14' (narrows to 10' at the back). The matting off eBay cost £280 i think to mat a 12' x 14' stable!
Also, Equimat is really easy to cut to size - black matting on the other hand is an actual sod!

Hope this helps in a small way :)

Thank you for your reply, I must say that is more expensive than I realized but I will certainly look into the equimat now seeing as you have had a positive experience with them. Do they come out an fit for that price?

My horse is bedded on straw and has a full bed so the mats are mainly to provide additional comfort.

Has anyone had a good experience with a lower quality mat.
