Am looking to buy rubber matting. Im looking for mats that are reasonable and not too expensive. My friend has told me that cattle mats are just as good as horse mats but am wanting any views. As have also heard that cattle mats rot. Any suggestions on where to buy and whether cattle mats are any good please. thank you.

Agree! I got cattle mats from 'Cow Comfort' 6/7 years ago & they are still going strong - had absolutely no problem with them at all & they were cheaper than the horse mats.

I bought from matman last year, did 2 stables and just did another this week and I can't praise them enough. Easy to lay(if you do it the right way round!!). Reasonable prices and I can tell you I wouldn't be without mine. They are wall to wall and totally interlocking so they don't move an inch or smell or need lifting to wash out unlike the ones that don't interlock. Really really pleased.

I've got cow cubicle mats from Mole Vally Farmers and they are fine. They are quite light and when they get dry in the summer they lift slightly. I've had them about 6 years and moves stables with them once.

Last winter i had my horses in the stables at the local farm that had cow mats in them, they were brill, with a fair bit of cushioning (sp) the farmer had had them about 10 years and the calves are in there all summer, then the horses in the winter so very durable, long lasting and cheaper than horse ones
