Star has had recurrent, low grade thrush in one of her front feet for ages (The widest part of the frog)- can't seem to shift it. I started to hang her haynet in a different place so that she was stood with her front feet on dry straw. this means the back feet were on the rubber matting at the front of her stable ( where she used to stand with her front).
Guess what - thrush is rearing it's ugly head in the back feet.

I'll be taking the matting up at the front of the stable, to see what happens.

I did wonder if anybody has come across this before.

I always thought that rubber matting was good for their feet - no constant damp material packed into the feet. BTW - her feet get picked out twice a day.

My OH's horse was getting thrush in his back feet on mats as that was where the wet bit was. We use Teramycin spray to dry it out, but have brought his bed forwards so his back feet are standing on a good thickness of straw ands its really helped.
