recently i'v been slightly strugglingwith time and my horsey mainly because i'm a postie and the run up to xmas is just so hectic it wil calm down straight after though.
I am seriously considering using rubber matting and shavings or somethings similar. as much as i love a big straw bed i just think this might be a quicker easier solution.
can any of you guys tell me if i am totally mistaken and it takes just as much time to muck out as straw?
Also if i was to get it can you reccomend me somewere to get it from?
has any1 tried the liquid rubber matting?
would it really significantly reduce amount of bedding i have to use?
thanks for any help in advance x

I use equimats and love them. It does take less time to muck out, but I don't seem to be using any less shavings for my particularly mucky horse.

the time saving is minimal, the smell could be immense! the cost ... initially a lot more! i would suggest you deep litter your straw bed for the next few weeks and dig out when time allows!

We are getting liquid rubber flooring installed over Christmas. I am hoping it will hugely reduce the amount of shavings needed and hence mucking out but still be comfy and warm.

I have tried matting in the past but had to drag them out weekly to clean stinky wee out from underneath. They weren't well fitted though so I may not have been giving them a fair trial!

Never tried liquid rubber flooring but I have rubber mats. I only find them time saving if you are willing to give you horse a small amount of bedding. Downside is rugs can get smelly if your horse is wet.
