Don't know what make they are as got them from tack shop, but they are the older harder, heavy rubber type, thus have to have quite a reasonable bed as mats not very cusioned. If I was buying mats again, I would probably go for the thicker, lighter EVA type.
I have a sheet of rubber matting at the front of each stable and Alisha has an extra sheet where she poos or I end up wasting so much bedding! They are both on straw
wow! I knew lots of people on here used matting but 88% is a huge amount. I use fieldguard matting at the moment but really dont like it and am looking to change some point in the new year to the equimat supersoft!
I have mats in my box, not sure which type though as they were there before I was. We use shredded paper at the yard for all boxes (mats and no mats, which have a chalk floor), mine gets a half bed but would have three quarters if she didn't have hay on the floor.
I'm not sure what make my rubber matting is but i have down on the whole of my stable. I use shavings, have big banks and a small layer down one side of the stable. i have a mare so she wee's in the banks and then poo's down one side so it works really well and the shavings are really absorbant, which is what i need because my girl pee's for England!
We have rubber matting in all our boxes and all our horses are on shavings except for the mares when they are foaling, we put them on straw then as the shavings stick like the proverbial to a blanket.
We have 3 stables with rubber matting (not sure what make sorry) one has chopped straw (dixons), one has shavings and the other has laysoft which is a cheapo version of easibed.
