Thanks to some twunt who has been into our yard and moved my partition from a flatbed trailer he was borrowing, the skirt on my butterfly partition is torn off. I'm bloody mad about it, but upshot is I need a new skirt (of the rubber variety). I've looked on Fleabay and FB marketplace, but can't find just the skirt. Partition is fine. Any ideas? Can you even buy them, now?!?

I think you have to buy the whole partition (or the relevant section at least). Mine is a 510 and when mine broke (partition and skirt but partition would have been fixable if I'd been able to get just a skirt) I tried to buy just a skirt and failed. I also failed to buy a 510 partition and had to buy a 511 one which works in exactly the same way but is only available in grey rather than the colour of the external panels so I had to buy both sections of the partition. I could have had mix and match but it looked awful.

Urgh. If that's the case I might just leave it as I only travel the one horse and rarely use the partition anyway - I travel him with full width bars instead. I don't even know how the unknown idiot has torn it off - it seems like pretty tough rubber!! Maybe other half can make one if I can find a rubber sheet...

I bought some secondhand partitions from Fbook marketplace a few years ago, just to get the skirts...I now have the partitions and spare breast bars cluttering up the place - not my best move!

I bought my 2002 or 2003 Ifor 505 second hand a few years ago and the rubber skirt on it was already torn. I asked for it to be fixed before i paid for it as I was buying off a dealer. He didn't replace it but instead stapled the rubber bits together with some sort of industrial sewing machine he had. And it's been fine ever since.

Maybe try a local Ifor dealer to see if they might have an old one lying about in a shed or even if they could fix it for you?

When the skirts on the partitions ripped, if I recall it correctly, OH and I made a ‘pillowcase’ out of tough material, put a strip of the rubber in slots in the top and bottom and reused the metal strip at the top. OH screwed the top strip to the bottom of the solid partition at each end to stop it sliding out.
It was still like that when I sold it.

Well, since I posted this, my superb OH has fixed it. I haven't looked closely at how he did it, but looks like the tantrum worked. :D Thanks all - I know for next time (I did find the Barlow trailers one, but it said 'fits with work' or something similar, so wondered if there was an age related alternative!).
