Thinking of having rubber stable mats put down. There seems to be so much choice along with very varied prices! What are your preferences from first hand experience and what companies would you recommend / avoid?

Hi, Just thought I'd let you know there are a few threads on stable mats. Have a search and you will get a few answers there. :)

I had rubber matting for around 3 years and i caved in and spent that extra on Equimats (which i should of done before hand).
Rubber matting is good but very heavy to move around and clean.
Equimats are made of rubber and EVA so they are light weight but they don't tend to stretch like cheaper pure EVA mats.
My advice... bite the bullet and pay a little more on EVA and rubber matting, it makes mucking out so much easier. If you are set on getting rubber matting, they do that as well. Hope I have helped. Heres their website www.equimat.co.uk
:)

Im on Eqimats - had them about 8 -10 years, still look like new and have bounce. Easy to move around. myself and few others on the yard have them and use little/no bedding

I too bought a set of Equimats last September - they are really nice and make for a nice bed (I use them with wood pellets). I know they are more expensive but very good value for money.

I bought Kraiburg mats about 10 years ago and have since bought more for other stables. I can't tell which are the original mats and which are the newer ones, they all look like new.
Excellent quality, no slipping and drain well. Can't fault them.

Brilliant advice. I too have used the equimats, and they are absolutely worth the money.

I went for arkmats as they are closer so they worked out a bit cheaper. Would never go back to plain rubber now, eva all they way!!
