rubbers on a tom thumb bit????

i jumped flint today (pics in gallery) but when i got off i noticed his bit where the rings are joining to his mouthpiece have rubbed his mouth on the outide a little..it looks a little sore. Would putting rubbers on the bit help with this?? his bit does fit him, not too big, not too small.

Are you sure it fits?

The tom thumbs from Shires have massive holes in the mouthpeice, so if they are a bit tight they pull the skin from the lips into the hole and rub really easily.

Our TT doesn't have a large hole, so doesn't suffer the same problem, but then isn't sweet iron.

flints is a sweet iron with copper rollers. small cooper rollers. what do you think would be the best thing?

I'd go a size up, but that's because I hate rubber bit rings!
