I turned Andy out in boots today as he and his field buddy were turned out with the rest of the horses.
Big mistake! His legs were hot when I got him in so whipped boots off and sponged down legs and they seem fine. Should I keep an eye on his tendons for the next few days or am I being over protective?

His over reach boots rubbed quite a bit of hair off him so I was wondering if these sheepskin ones are any good? I would use them for lunging and show jumping.

If I got them would he be a small as his medium normal rubber over reach boots were a bit big.

Do you think his legs were hot from having the boots on (was pretty warm today) or due to him being silly in the field?

Not sure about the sheepskin ones, but I have a pair of Eskadron overreach boots that are neoprene with a sort of faux suede lining on/in them & I've not had a problem with those being on for a length of time.

Definitely from the boots as they were a bit sweaty under them and he's been doing lots of galloping up and down the hills (he hasn't been turned out in a big field since the move.) He was sound I just worry about him especially as he has such little legs.

I was on the Eskadron website and they look very good boots, what size do you use?

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it then. The yard I used to work at turned out in boots and all had varying amounts of sweat under them when they came in - and these were £££££ dressage horses so any hair out place was cause for alarm!

Well I'm off to Badminton at the end of the month so might buy a pair there as they do look very good.

I won't worry about it then, just make sure I leave them off tomorrow as he got on with his friends so well. :)
