Finally came on interactive at 1.30, over an hour after it had started and so missing Sharon Hunt, just so they could stay with Badmington which was apparently just a qualifier

What does equestrian have to do to be taken seriously? Obviously being in contention for a medal is not good enough

I didn't see all the coverage but it is getting alot better than it used to be, probably because they have the bbci thing now. I was quite impressed with their coverage, only think i don't like is the time difference which means coverage at silly o'clock but that cannot be helped.

I think that's a little unfair. The equestrian coverage so far has been excellent. They showed a lot of the team competiton live and most of the individual. Not to mention the full, live coverage of all of the dressage and cross country.

Not if you were expecting it at 12.15 as scheduled, I then had to go out so missed the individual and someone told me the result. I don' think it's an unfair comment at all - we pay to watch television so if something says it will be on then it should be or at least put on interactive live not half way through

But the BBC never claimed that they would be showing live, dedicated coverage of the show jumping. It was always listed as part of the main olympic show and when the coverage started there happened to be another sport on with British interest. Badminton fans pay to watch tv as well

Live sports coverage often over-runs and times change as they have to go with where the action is.

Oh and that's a joke before you all tell me Badminton's a great sport - I'm sure it is just not for me.

But if the equestrian event over ran, and it was a tight finish for a British rider, you'd want them to stay with it. You can't have it always.
Obviously you feel badminton players like WI members are less important than yourself?

As I have just said in my above post, the Badminton was JUST a QUALIFIER, not a medal deciding round like the Eventing.....plus the Badminton was 2 online BBC channels.

I said it was a joke, why do some people on here take everything so seriously, lighten up. I think Badminton is incredibly dull and did not want to watch a qualifying round, I would rather watch a sport where a medal is to be decided.

I have just sent my complaint to the BBC about the coverage.

ATEOTD, the Badminton was round 16 and the Eventing was the final and medal deciding round....I thought it should've take precedence.

Anyway even though some of you might not agree, for anyone who wants to complain, here's the link:

Looks like it'll be just you and me then

That's another thing I complained about! I don't just want to see the British riders. I like looking at all the horses...

I wanted to see Team Fredericks, and what about the first Irish rider?

I thought the coverage was very good if you didnt see enough next time get a ticket and go see it live !

After the appaling spectacle of live viewing at Badminton the year before last I am very grateful for anything that the BBC shows.

I listened to Laura Bechtolsteimer on 5 live on the way back from work who said that the dresaage will be much more exciting to watch when there is some proper dressage " not what the eventers do "

Does no-one from team gb brief these people on what to say?

IMO that was a bit rich from a sport where they cant have mounted prizegiving in case the horses spook !

Bravo for the eventers and the BBC for its coverage.

I did get bored watching the badminton,. but have to say, I'm really pleased with the amount of coverage the BBC has given the eventing overall. Been a thrilling competition, great to watch, and we pretty much got to see all of it.

It was great to be able to watch the whole of the Dressage and XC but the only reason the BBC showed this was because it was in the middle of the night and quite early on in the games.

I thought the eventing on the BBC was very good overall, yes it was a bit annoying to miss the first 15 riders and that the badminton was being shown on BBC1 and on the interactive but at the end of the day the BBC have to accomodate all the sports at the Olympics. Therefore complaining I think is not the right thing to do

Well, we saw everyone as we watched on Eurovision on the puter til the BBC caught up. Presumably Eurovision is available by satellite, so if you want specialist coverage, you pay extra.

I thought the BBC did very well.

Quite. It may only have been a first round badminton match (and please note that badminton is not actually spelt with a "g"

) but it was an important one. The british duo were playing one half of the pair who beat them in the last olympic final and Gail Emms has already said this this will be her last olympics so I can see why the BBC showed this on their terrestrial coverage. I suspect that this is also the reason why this was being shown on two channels simultaneously - the BBC not assuming that everyone has interactive and allowing the match to reach a wider audience while the SJing was in the early stages.
It was frustrating that the BBC didn't show the first SJing rounds but I think that the coverage so far has been fantastic (and they did show the "important" rounds when coverage started) and I am very glad that they showed it on terrestrial channel rather then just relegating it to the interactive channels.

I didn't see the first 15 rides Teapot, and only saw the Irish rider in the background as Balding was gabbing.

How come you didn't get Badminton? I'm jealous!

Did anyone see all of it and if so what part of the country are you in? Wonder if the coverage was different in different places.
