Just looking at whats for sale at the mo and there is some really poor quality out there (poor things...) The I came across this and it all made sense.

I doubt it. I would say it will be breed them to any old thing and then sell the foals for 200 quid or so. After one season you have basically made your money back. It so sad to see so many being bred like this. You only have to look at this website to see what will happen to them.
