Rubs on shoulder - saddle? nummah?

I have recently noticed rub marks on my mare's shoulder muscles that seem to be where the nummah or the edge of the saddle goes over her shoulder muscle. There is a definite curved mark on her (grey mare, black skin so quite obvious). Could this be the seam of the nummah (if so, recommendations for smooth ones please) or does this mean that the saddle could be rubbing her (but would a wider saddle - it fits her back - be wider at this point?) Hope I have made this clear, she has been doing more work recently and may have added some muscle here but I don't want to end up hurting her....rather puzzled as I have never seen a rub here before. Thanks

If she is thin skinned your might have to cough our for a sheepskin numnah to prevent rubs

However are you sure she is not rubbing against something, as they have all gone very itchy with the recent batch of midges and flies?

Good thought - her coat is quite thin (ID X TB leaning to the TB) any ideas to source a sheepskin numnah? (Definitely not flies as I can see the rubbed hair as I lift off the saddle and they got better when I was on holiday last week....rather hoping it doesn't mean new saddle though....)
