I have an arrangement with another livery. I turn her Horse out and she brings in mine. I do it the same way everyday. Ruby first then I go back and get the other mare. So this morning, put Ruby out. Went back and got other mare.

Because they have individual fields. There is a walk way with a main gate at the end and then a strip of the fields. I led Horse through gate and I saw Ruby was loose in the walk way. She came galloping full pelt torwards me and mare (who was behaving very well) this Horse though, does and will kick the others. I tried to shoo Ruby away but she didn't listen and went right up behind the other. Who then did double barrow, it caught Ruby, but I wasn't sure where as she spun and ******d off. Put Horse in her field and caught Ruby (after a good 15 mins) she was shaking all over and was so wound up.

Got her in and hosed her legs down as they were caked in mud and I couldn't see the damadge. She has a very small cut on her cannon bone. But the kick was just behind her flank. Shes very stiff. Hosed it down and put her in. I realise putting out would let her walk off the stiffness. But shes broken her gate so can't risk her getting out again. I put arnica gel on it and put an extra rug on so hopefully the warmth will soothe the pain.

Trotted up. She was okish in walk, tight turns, she was fine in one direction but not the other. She was very lame in trot though :( have given her some bute and a nice big bed with lots of hay. I will hose later and walk her.

Sounds like she'll be ok, just a bit bruised - that'll teach her to break out! :)

My pony got a nasty kick off my horse last year, on the top of his front leg. He was left with a rather large lump and a bit of a hole and was quite sore. However, as it was his own fault (he had some massive fall out with my horse that lasted a few weeks) for attacking my horse and because putting him in would have just got him more angry (he's the herd leader and was particularly upset with my horse for some reason), I had to leave him out and hope he would have some common sense and not do it again.

They are pretty resilient and tough really and, if she got the flanks then there's a fair bit of flesh coverage so I am sure she'll just be bruised and feeling sorry for herself!

Was a bit swollen. But wasn't overly hot. Hosed and walked out. I'm expecting her to be stiff tomorrow. I think its just bad bruising.

I don't blame the other Horse. Ruby ran right into her. I couldv'e tried to get back through the gate. But I was worried incase Ruby got through that.
