Rude...But Interested....How Much Did You Spend On Your Saddle?

Blimey, my ideal event vsd that is currently being made to measure for Spring seems quite cheap at £800.
Have never bought a new saddle before, always had 2nd hand (and would again) only I couldn't get anything wide enough for my part bred elephant!

£130 for an awful 2nd hand one.
it was ancient, uncomfortable and cause my horse pain..which we did not know.
something i learned when i bought/had my new one fitted is that the older saddles[25+] have a very narrow channel down the middle...it's amazing what a difference this makes to maddies performance...
i now have a gfs pro event, £450 2nd hand...but perfect now..
would love to get a dressage saddle at some point in the future too...i can dream

£1500 on a WOW and I'm about to buy the dressage flaps at about £450. My mare changes shape a lot and the saddle can be easily adjusted for her. I'm an older rider and find it very comfortable for creaking bones, we SJ and do dressage.

Hi,
I part x`d my saddle recently for an Ideal Grandee jumping saddle. This is the only one that fitted her. I paid cash and with my saddle, the new saddle was priced at £800. The last one I had was a Bates Caprilli for £650 and my other horse had an Ideal Event saddle for £800.

Just bought a Jeffries Elite Close Contact for £1099 and its lovely. Sooo comfy and smart too.
My one before that was a Dressage saddle that was too good to miss even though I didn't need it. £130 second hand in great condition, english leather. Wont come in wrong as a spare for that price
