My mare is in a 7ft rug, with a neck, only 200g but as she is Clydesdale it looks like a flippin mini skirt on her. people on the yard have commented about her in her 'skirt' so was wondering if any one knew a make of rug that wqas reknown for being very long, so it will cover her fat belly (its not fat really) all suggestions welcome, but please dont say sew a bit more on to the existing rug - I cant even tack stitch yet alone sew!!!

Masta used to do an extra deep rug upto 7ft which my friend used on her 17hh shire cross. That came from equestrianclearance.com they also have a big girl/boy rugs section so you might find something there?

Premiere Equine rugs and nice and deep. But I know that Fal used to do a bespoke service where they would put an additional strip on a rug to make it deeper........

Agree with other posters - FAl or the Rambo XL ones would be your best bet. Mark Todd's are normally quite generous as well, might be worth having a look at those.

My shire takes a 7'3 and I know what you mean about miniskirts - his saxon t/o has the same effect. The best rug I have found is called gallop equestrian - unfortunatly I can only find them selling lightweight or heavyweight rugs though, no mediumweights!
