Does Anyone know of anyone who carries out good rug alterations or makes made to measure rugs? I have the chunkiest cob in the world who would take a 6'3" rug but I have to get 6'9" or 7 foot rugs to fit his chest and neck.. He also suffers from sweet itch - I swear I saw a midge today, in Feb! he was kept amazingly sweet itch free last year by the new Premier Equine fly rug (completely amazing - highly recommend ) but, even the 7 foot was tight over his withers and rubbed a bit. I wonder if someone out there would be able to put an insert in the neck or something to loosen it up? .... Sorry for long winded post! my boy and I would be very very grateful for any help

If you have any brand new ones, I'd mark where it needs adjusting and pop into a local shop. Assuming they're too long if you're upsizing for the front? They could sew in some darts to resize it slightly.

My mum will adjust them so long as they're new, only because it's a clothes alteration shop- if you found a horsey person they'd probably do clean but worn ones too!

Ask in a tack shop for a chest extension its just a square with buckles and straps and fastens to the ones on the front of your rug so as to make round the neck and chest bigger ,my friend made one from a piece of material taken from an old fly rug as her horse is large and his fly rug although it was big rubbed his chest. And there were lots of midges out today,we found best fly repellent last summer COOPERS one bottle for all summer.
