What do you do with the bags your rugs come in?

Do you reuse or throw?

I try and reuse but to me they seem such a waist!

Reuse them (well most of them), in summer all his winter rugs get packed up and put away. I also use one bag as his 'travel bag' which holds his boots, tail bandage and fleece.

I try to reuse them. I pop old rugs in them so they go off to my chosen charity looking tidy or I use them to take dirty things home to be washed.

Mine have been fashioned into some kind of homemade storage system in the barn. I tie them with baling twine, at varying levels, to a beam of wood that runs along the side of the barn and then use them to keep bits and bobs in. Some are used for storing rugs in when they are not being used, another one within easier reach holds my hat, hi vis and gloves. Perfecto!

Some very clever ideas!!

I did get some very cool rug bags when I bought a cottage craft pony rug... I'm that I'm impressed with them I will attach some pics when I'm on my laptop! :)

I use them to keep washed rugs clean as for some reason there is incredible dust at the yard!
I really really want to buy a stock of empty bags (Weatherbeeta ones in particular are really useful as you can see which rug is in them...anyone know where I could get some? :)

I reuse the good ones! Some of them do seem to fall apart instantly, or the zip comes off - so those have to go in the bin, but the nicer ones get reused.
I either use them to store things like spare headcollars, leadropes, surcingles etc as this makes each "item" easier to spot in the giant boxes as I can just pull out the relevant bag.

Or - if the rugs are especially nice, like fleeces etc I'll store them in their bags when they're not in use. New horse has all her rugs put back into the bags they came out of when they've been aired because there's no space left to hang her ones up so they have to be put away neatly!
