Do you have your T/O rugs re-proofed everytime? Does the washing 'un-proof' them? The rug was new this winter so not really had much wear.

Cheers

It's not that minging but I do like to get them cleaned and put away - I'm was more thinking of saving a few pennies by just getting them washed instead of re-proofed too - credit crunch and all that

I washed ponies turnout rugs at the weekend both are only 4 months old and i did not re-proof, neither have leaked even in heavy rain and they are different makes.
I will be re-proofing next wash though.
I am luck as they will fit in mums old washer and i have some stuff that you just add to the water.
Works out much cheeper.......

I'm not a believer in washing turnouts. I'm not convinced they are the same after.

I will give them a scrub down on the outside, but thats it. Stable rugs get washed, but not turnouts.

It would put me off buying a 2nd hand one if it had been washed.

I am wondering whether to get it cleaned now, it's probably been worn about 50 times over the winter - it's the 450g PE??

Will have a look at the inside tomorrow to check how grimy it is and decide.

Stable rug is definitely going to cleaners - it stinks though barely worn
