Rug cleaning

Yes did some of my turnouts, only reason we did them was because stables had just been jet wash so thought we would try it, didn't do too bad a job, never done the stable rugs......

yes. and I still had to send it to be re-proofed as it leaked after. It never was the same. So to clean an old tO rug cost me a tenner to have re proofed and 70 quid for a replacement.

I used to do this with ALL of mine tbh. Had 5 horses and at the end of winter, having them all professionally cleaned would have cost a small fortune :|

Our jet wash had a small area you could put like car shampoo and stuff in? I bought loads of the rambo rug cleaning stuff and stuck that in and away i went.

Never had any issues with the leaking (although i did tend to reproof turnouts anyway) and they didnt come up bad at all. Certainly saved loads on the cleaning bill.

Although drying them can be a pain :P

We have power hosed lightweight turnout rugs, then left them to drip on fence for a few hours then moved them into greenhouse where they dry superfast. Haven't tried it with anything with a linging I'm afraid..

Yep we do, although often use carr day martin rug cleaner with the power hose if they are really minging. Works really well and then leave on fences to dry off.
