When I can't handle the grooming any more I'll be clipping my pony and rugging accordingly (she is a mud monster and grows a coat like a yak)

Unfortunately she is right on the cusp between pony rugs and horse rugs in length (I measured her as needing a 5'3", however a 5'6" rain sheet from Decathlon doesn't look too big)

My concern is that if I buy a 5'3" pony rug it won't be deep enough as she is very deep (recent pic from Aug)

But also, if a rug comes up big, it will be hanging off her.

As I will be importing any rugs from the UK, t will be difficult to send anything back if it doesn't fit.

Suggestions, or recommendations for brands?

TIA :)

I like Premier Equine for horses with big bodies - used them with my last horse who looked like he was wearing a mini skirt in most rugs, but PE are great, deep rugs. They come up quite big and long IME so you could go for the smaller size. Mine was a 6ft9 or 7ft depending on make and PE 6ft3 were absolutely perfect for him. Worth a try :)

my pony is 13.2 and is between 5'3 and 5'6 too - pony rugs come up short on his legs. but 5'3 ones are a bit tight and horse 5'6 are too big but have been recommended amigo for him too but havent tried one yet.so they sound like they may be good. my h-zone one is too deep and hangs off him though so would avoid those.
