For the first time in my life I have actually got a bargain. I brought a neck cover (that matches my stable rug) off Ebay for dirt cheap, it even fits. But despite the fact it is designed to go with my stable rug, the neck cover has 3 straps to attatch it to the rug, yet the rug only has one ring to attach a neck cover to...

Has anyone else had this problem with the "Mark tood ultimate stable rug?"

If so does it move when you only use one attachment?

Or does any one have any great ideas for attaching 2 more D-rings (like where can I buy them from, and is it easy to attach them yourself), given he is being clipped in 10 days?

Please help...

You should be fine using it with one attachment. With some of the stable rugs that you can buy separate neck covers for, you get the other attachemnts with the neck cover. I was always too lazy to put them on and had not trouble. Lol.

Did you buy the rug brand new from a 'proper' shop? The rug should have 3 d-rings on it! I've probably got some spare ones kicking around it you have anyone who can attach them for you - PM me your address if you think you need some.

Have a look at the inside binding of the neck of the rug, you may find that there is a short piece of binding stitched on top of the main one (hope that makes sense) you clip the main one at the withers and slot the tabs on the neck rug through the binding loops either side of the neck and back on themselves to secure.

Hope that helps.

Mrs T is right, there is a binding loop on the inside of the edging of the neck of the rug (god, does that make sense) either side that the neck cover straps slot through

Yep the JHL / Mark todd range sometimes hide the loop on the edge of the binding.

On another note I attached 3 D's to a rug last night, and I am really impressed with my "Speedy Stitcher". Although do still have a few nicks in my hands...
