Just a quick question really...

Can anyone recommend a good medium weight stable rug that is fairly deep in the chest, doesn't cost the earth and goes up 7ft 3!

Thought its worth asking here as there are so many people with different horsey shapes that could help!

Thanx in advance.

How about Amigo or Slumberdown.

Amigo is the budget range for Horseware, and Slumberdown is the budget range for Fal.

Discounted saddlery are good if you buy off ebay but have not had good experience of buying direct from their online shop ie not their ebay shop.
Equissentials are also good.

I would rate masta rugs too as I got one of their luxury stable ones for my big lad a 16.3 clydesdale cross ( takes 59 inch in girth) and you can't get much deeper than that lol.
His rugs are 7 foot but I find some that are good in the length are naff in the depth, seems a tad odd really as most of the bigger and taller horses that I know of are deep chested too. Anyway the masta was the de lux one and I got it for £36 including postage from a private seller on Ebay. It was brand new and still in the packaging so was well chuffed.
What impressed me too is the little device which keeps the surcingles crossed under the belly and makes taking off and fastening the rug up again a lot easier.
Just checked it out on ebay and the one I got was the stablemasta delux one which someone called horseystuff4u has for sale. They are advertising a 4ft 6 size but that is the same rug and it is very cosy. What I liked about it though as it is pretty wipe 'cleanable' on the outer layer, well I found it is anyway, but yet underneath it is nice and padded and warm. My lad was really snug in it when I put it on him during the colder days of winter we had.
It does go up to 7ft 3 too.
Good luck
