My old boy is 25 now, and last winter for the first time ever he dropped a fair bit of weight.
He is retired, he lives out, he's a cob and never ill; a stoic type. He does not have cushings but does grow a dense longish coat - in theory he doesn't need rugging and when rugged last winter (the first year ever he was not clipped) he sweated (and shredded two rugs in two days!) but with no rub he was a bit weather beaten and scabby over his quarters.
So what I want is a 50g would be perfect, or 100g, half or full neck (his neck seems to be low on his chest, no neck rugs cut in), but I do want a heavy denier outer, 1200D minimum as I have youngsters who are a bit keen with their teeth! Any ideas? I am struggling to find light weight fill on heavy weight outer.
