Rug help

Pony living out for a month or so in mid December so need to buy a thick night time rug.
He is
new forest x welsh mountain
Plenty of belly and very good doer.
Not really sure what to get him...any recommendations?

Is he clipped? If not I reckon a middleweight should do the job as he is a hardy type. I love my Rhino Middleweight. Never slips or leaks or rubs.

I agree on both counts, if not clipped then a middleweight should do, with a neck if necessary for a bit more warmth. And also, I have a Rhino heavyweight turnout and it's really nice! Haven't used it yet but have heard they're good, and now have removeable hoods and everything, and come in mediumweight too.

Definitely a middleweight then. As Rachel B says, get one with a neck attachment if you are worried about really windy, wet & cold weather. I reckon he'll cope!! My TB has a blanket clip, is wearing a middleweight with no neck attachment & is toastie warm - if not a little too warm - was considering going back to his lightweight last week!
