Ok so yesterday I posted that my mare had managed to get herself out of her rug, all straps done up - including legs

Thought it was a one off.

Just got call from YO to say mare is naked again and rug soaking wet. What is going on??!!

She's had this rug for two months so it's not like it's new and rubbing....

Do you think she's bored of it now and wants a new one?
And why was it wet? Did she jump up and down and wee on it in disgust?... I despair....

Or maybe it's those darn pixies again.

this made me laugh yesterday out loud in the office and ive just nearly spat my cheese n tomato sarnie out giggling, thanks for your posts, brighten up my day! if ever there was an excuse to buy yet another rug i think you just found it!

My seventeen hand does it every night unless you make sure the fillet string is under his tail. Tempted to set up video just to see how he does it. All straps done up and nothing broken amazing! fillet string seems to stop him thank goodness.

My two year old is proving just how supple and wiggly she is as she makes it her nightly challenge to get out of her stable rug too. Even leg straps don't keep her contained. Going to have to sort something out before she comes into work next year and gets clipped - hmmmmmm, any suggestions anyone?

Mine used to grab the chest and pull it forward eventually over his head, fillet string and a rug with cotton lining helped - not as slippy, but no ideas for those that can get them of with leg straps!!!

Maybe she doesnt think the colour suites her, or does she think it makes her bum look big?....

BH - It's a kahki (sp?) green and she's a very mare-ish mare.
She might prefer pink but she's not getting it!

She could be too warm but she's had it on in better weather and not bothered.....

Perhaps I should keep the rug and get a new mare!

One of mine got himself out of a brand new Snuggy Hoods Turnout hood! Its the one which goes over the head (with eye holes) and does up with a strap behind the shoulders. I had a turnout rug OVER it as well. The next morning - I found it in a heap in the field. How the hell?!

My pony was always escaping from everything rugs, fields, stables etc. Somehow the rugs would be neatly laid out with barely a crease and all the straps still done up. I often wondered if it was a never ending practical joke!
