I'm seriously lacking storage for all the rugs that are currently hanging about on stable doors, draped over the tractor and stuffed in corners. Having had a big clearout of everything else the yard is looking lovely, this is the last thing to tackle! There are quite a lot as there are currently 10 horses here and expecting another couple. So....

I don't currently have any extra sheds or barns that are suitable, but I am thinking about using half of a stable (currently used for hay, but will need less space for that over summer, and next year I hope to have a new hay barn). The walls are breeze block so could drill into them, also there are rafters from which I could hang something. I don't really want the swinging rug racks as they take up a lot of space outwards and sideways

Options are:
- Put heavy duty hooks along one wall so rugs can just hang from the chest straps - good if they are still damp or need to get to them often - and hopefully don't take up too much room per rug, could allow one per horse and each could probably hold 2 rugs
- Some sort of hanging arrangement from the rafters, like the below link but it doesn't look very sturdy

- In addition, which I will do, put up some garage shelving (which I already have) for dry rugs to go in boxes or laundry bags

Any other ideas or great racks that you know of? Thank you!

A friend put jump poles with rope through that attached to the rafters and could be lowered on a pulley system which was very simple to install, cheap and was amazing- I was very impressed!
I use tough garage racking type shelving for dry out of season rugs

I have that hanging organizer you linked. I did get mine from Temu so maybe the quality isn't as good but I don't think it would be any good for rugs, maybe light rugs like coolers. I use mine for my half pads as I find its the perfect length for them.

I currently use this Shelving Unit and use these Ikea bags with labels to store them or some rugs I just use the clear plastic storage boxes that I get in the poundshop, Large Ikea Bag & Small Ikea Bag. I try my best to keep all the rugs in their original storage bag with labels showing out so there is some sort of organisation 😅
I got this Storage Box recently to have out in the field to store my jumping bits but I think itd be a nice size to have outside stables to store the horses rugs in.

I also have a 3 arm swinging rug rack in an area out of the way that I do find good to dry rugs on.

I have two of the heavy duty wall mounted rug holders and I've used them about 3 times this winter! my rugs usually get flung over whatever is the closet thing to me! I've even hung bailing twine up in my shelter and hung rugs over that

I use a combination, I have some boxes like the link below that I use to store rugs that I'm not using for a season e.g. fly rugs or turnouts and then I have plastic garage shelving for rugs like fleeces and liners that I use frequently and then I have the swinging arm ones to dry rugs on but agree that they take up a lot of room. I have used the big/ square hooks in the past (tbh even just a row of nails) and both held more than two rugs and worked well. I also used to put the big/ square hooks up in the stable when I was short of space so that the rugs horses were using at the time were easily to hand and that worked really well.

We have 6 horses and their array of rugs to store. We use a metal 3 compartment feed bin to store all the rugs not is use. It holds loads. And then we have a 5 arm swinging rug rack on the back wall to hang up wet rugs. And a small single rug rack on front of their stables for in use rugs (normally max 2 rugs on each for tidiness) :-)

We use large garage hooks and hang by the chest straps in the barn- if you get good strong hooks they hold more like 4/5 each. Out of season rugs are in a large metal chest.
