Which rug re-proofer is the best? Its just for a normal synthetic turnout, I have washed and dried it myself and it has been stored away since the winter. I think its about time I thought about proofing it now before the winter comes.

I have been looking at the carr day and marin one but dont want to get it if its no good.

So which one does everyone else use?

I use Nikwax which you can get from tack shops.Make sure you get the one for synthetic rugs as there is also one for waxed cotton type. You can put in the washer or put it on by hand with a sponge. You should also really use the Nikwax wash beforehand. The instructions are on the bottles.I also did all my waterproof jackets overtrousers etc at the same time.I think one bottle does two rugs depending on size.I prefer to put it on by hand as it is more economical and you can make sure that any seems and the areas of the rug which are most likely to leak can be well covered.
