Hi Guys
I'm looking for a 6'6 medium weight outdoor rug approx 275 grams with neck that's quite deep, but i want it to be light... does that make sense :-/
The one I've got is a masta its a lovely rug but it gets so heavy when it gets wet, could hardly pick it up the other day when it threw it down all day.
Any suggestions :)

Not sure about the gram/weights but the Amigos and Weatherbeetas are good rugs and not so bad when wet. Funnily enough I took a rug off a horse today, the Premier Equine Trio, weighed so much I struggled to lift it onto the rug rail. They are heavy when wet.

I'd go for a Premier Equine 300grm rug.
They are def the best on the market for fit, price, quality ect
They have a sale on at the moment.

I've heard this before about masta rugs, I think the best ones I've dealt with are Horsewear (any of their ranges except the amigo 600D range), weatherbeeta or shires.

I have recently bought a JHL heavyweight with neck (apparently made to same pattern as Mark Todd). My friend has the med weight. We have both said how light yet warm these rugs seem to be. My HW was £94.99 which I baulked at, but was actually the cheapest HW full necked rug in the shop! I must just be tight!

Hello,

I would go for a Mark Todd, Shires or Weatherbeta I have lots of other makes for my increasing herd but these three makes are always my favourite.

FAL rugs - although not as good as they were a few years ago!

Agree with Doris68. The older rugs - Vikings, Bulldog, Goliath etc are great. The ones which were made abroad after FAL was sold are nowhere near as good as the British made ones.

mm... thanks for all the feed back you've all been very helpfull
its a toss up between the townsfields own brand or the weather beeta orican :-/

Dont want to pay too much it would be just my luck he'd rip the bloody thing in a couple of weeks anyway.. :)

Might be a good idea to sell all the rugs i don't use, the pile seems to be rapidly increasing :-/
