One of the horses on our yard came in on Wednesday with very sore withers, couldnt see anything but just wouldn't let anyone touch him.. looked at him again yesterday & as my friend brushed her hand along his withers the hair came loose, she tugged a bit of the hair and it pulled out with a large scab attached leaving what looked like a raw saddle sore underneath.. except its not touched by any part of his saddle.. (saddle has been professionally fitted & checked & gives the withers plenty of room. So looks as though its been caused by his rugs & he has had a different one on, he's quite slight around the shoulders & usually needs his rugs altered. Said horse is obviously being treated etc
So got me thinking can rugs cause back issues?? What experiences have you had?
