Rug sizes... Classic new-pony-frustration!

Hi everyone!

I'm a bit stuck as to what rug sizes I'm supposed to be buying. My new 14.3 light-but-still-cob mare fits 6ft rugs, but some websites use the sizing "small - medium - large"... What category is she in?? I have only ever dealt with my 17hh Hanoverian mare and am a bit lost. :S

I would want to see some sort of conversion chart on the website tbh

I've only ever seen neck covers classified as S, M, L never rugs

^^ this. I dont think I've ever seen rugs listed small medium large :S just neck covers and sometimes boots rather than pony cob full. I'd ring for exact measurements, and unless a day/ travel rug I wouldn't buy unless for eg medium happened to be exactly the right size for your mare, poorly fitting turnout/stable rugs are a nightmare!
